Tomo Honda is a former member of the Fukushima Prefectural Assembly in The Fukushima Prefectural Government from 2005 to 2015 where he provided policy recommendations to the Governors of Fukushima. He represented and advised private corporations, trading unions, and industry lobbyist groups in relevant stakeholders and government relations. He also formed and maintained direct connections with key national level politicians and local assembly members in every prefecture throughout Japan.
Honda studied International Business programme at American College of Switzerland in Leysin, Switzerland and also earned his BA in History from Suffolk University in Boston, Massachusetts, USA. He went on to earn his Master of Arts degree (MA) with merit in International Relations and Diplomatic studies from the University of Westminster, London, England, and a year abroad at Centre Europeen Hautes Etudes Internationales, Paris, France. Before his return to public service in Japan, he worked in private companies in Paris, France, Frankfurt am Main, Germany and Stuttgart, Germany.
