GR Korea is honoured to welcome Dr Jiyoon Kim as the speaker at the first webinar to be hosted in Korea by the GR Group’s International Policy Forum (IPF).
With the governing Democratic Party winning a clear majority in the seats of the National Assembly in what seems to be a strong endorsement of President Moon Jae-in and the Government’s handling of the COVID-19 crisis, please join us for a timely opportunity to exchange views with one of the most renowned political analysts in Korea, Dr Jiyoon Kim.
Dr Kim is a popular and highly acclaimed political analyst specialising in election and public opinion analysis. She will provide us with her analysis of the outcome of the National Assembly Elections, implications for policy making during the remainder of President Moon Jae-in’s term in office and possible impact on the Presidential Elections in 2022.
She is currently the host of Jiyoon Kim’s Evening Show on TBS FM, where she discusses current issues with high-profile politicians and opinion leaders. Prior to TBS FM, Dr Kim hosted MBC’s 100 Minute Debate, the most respected political debate programme in Korea.
Recent guests on Jiyoon Kim’s Evening Show includes SME and Start-up Minister Park Young-sun, People’s Party leader and former presidential candidate Ahn Cheol-soo, Democratic Party National Assembly member Sohn Hye-won, and Chair of the Liberal Korea Party and former presidential candidate Hong Junpyo.
Dr Kim was Research Fellow and Director of the Public Opinion Studies Centre at the Asan Institute of Policy Studies, and a lecturer at Yonsei University. She earned her Ph.D. in political science from MIT, an M.A. in public policy from UC Berkeley, and a B.A. in Political Science from Yonsei University.
