GR Japan today announced the appointment of Takashi Kuroda as Associate Director with immediate effect.
Mr. Kuroda has been at the centre of policy making in Japan over the past decades, serving in high profile roles as Director General of the Office of Foreign Direct Investment Promotion, Deputy Director General for Economic and Fiscal policies in the Cabinet Office, and more recently as Vice-Commissioner of the Consumer Affairs Agency. He will draw from his extensive experience and expertise gained during his distinguished career in the government as he embarks on his new role as a client facing member of the GR Japan team.
During his time as Vice-Commissioner of the Consumer Affairs Agency, Mr. Kuroda oversaw the agency's work to protect consumers from unfair business practices and led the Agency’s efforts to promote consumer rights. He also played a key role in the passage of the so-called Act on Prevention of Unfair Solicitation of Donations in 2022, aimed at safeguarding individuals from falling prey to unjust solicitation practices when making charitable donations.
Commenting on the appointment, Mr. Kuroda stated, "I am thrilled to be a part of GR Japan and to have the opportunity to contribute my skills and knowledge to this dynamic organization. I believe that together, we can achieve greater growth and create a positive impact on society while ensuring that the policy needs of our clients are being met."
